Be a Mod! THE WHO CONCERT TICKET GIVEAWAY

BE A MOD -- NO POSEURS ALLOWED

Iconic band The Who are currently blowing audiences away on their Quadrophenia and More tour, playing their classic 1973 album Quadrophenia in its entirety, followed by an encore of their greatest hits.
This second rock opera from The Who explores the mod culture – and teen angst – which bloomed in post-war Britain. Mod culture has a rich heritage, whether it’s from the gloriously stylish 1960s, its comeback during the early 1980s, or even today, with cyclist and “King of the Mods” Bradley Wiggins.
But who needs a cultural revival to be a mod? Here are some tips to bring it back on your own.

Fashion
Men, stick to slim-fit pants and suits with pointy shoes or some really groovy trainers (that’s Brit for “tennis shoes,” America).  Keep your tees simple and make a statement. Ladies, you’ll want to reach for short, bold colored dresses and tall, bright boots. Throw on some white eye liner for good measure.
Be sure to refrain from buying yourself a leather jacket, lest you look like a rocker. Beware of dark turtlenecks, too. We can’t have any beatniks lurking in our mod midst.

Transportation
Get a scooter immediately. It is an absolute staple of mod transportation. And think of what you’ll save on gas! But if a sporty car is more your speed, you may want to look into acquiring a late 60s model Honda. Hondas were a far cry from today’s Civics and Accords and believe it or not, were a sensation in the UK circa the late 60s.

Film
The 1960s gave birth to a lot of fabulous, mod classic titles like Blow Up, Angel Baby and To Sir With Love. And there’s also a little film called Quadrophenia you may want to Netflix. Invite your mates over to enjoy a hibiscus margarita and catch a few flicks.

Language
The subtle art of the mod vocabulary some call “mockney” will solidify your place among their ranks. Consider using “bird” in place of woman or girl and start calling your friends “mates.” When you want to get someone’s attention, it’s best to shout “Oi!” But be sure if you want to pay a compliment, you’re calling someone an “ace,” not an “arse.”

Music
You’ll find lots of “The” bands on the Mod music scene – little bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, The Faces and, of course, The Who. And once you’re caught up on your beauty sleep, you should promptly get yourself to an underground all-night dance club to totally enjoy some of their hits.
Now get off your arse, grab your mates, and go check out The Who’s “Quadrophenia and More” tour. Tickets can be purchased http://bit.ly/YtBsRR. Cheers!
